my favourite web comics have updated since i last checked
i had over 6 hours of sleep
i made a simple asteroids engine and an ai that drives a tiny virtual car
i had brownies and caffeine
i discovered that my essay was not due on tuesday as i had thought, but rather on wednesday
i found some new bands that will keep me entertained for weeks
i convinced a small child that he was made entirely out of carrots and had a poking match with my friend's nephew who refers to me as uncle gabe
and technological advances are so extraordinary

current 1,200 something core super-computers can succesfully simulate cat brains [link] and the next step up is going to be a full million. not only that, but artificial eyes are approaching the realm of useability, and a rat brain has been succesfully connected to a robot so that it was able to walk around and explore it's surroundings. and if moore's law holds true as it has been, everyday simulation of a human brain should be a simple task by the time i'm thirty or so!!!!!!
oh, and amazing remix vid featuring carl sagan was posted today [link]
